Arrggghh!!! Pissed off with my 200Gb Ext HDD based on the Prolific 3507 chipset. It was working fine till about a month ago when the Firewire connection would not work anymore. Today even the USB connection is dead! The disk spins once in a while but that goes on for ages and I still cant see the disk!
Have read some posting on internet about how crappy the ROM on the HDD casing is… I thikn I’m just going to write off that casing, and since I can’t really check what chipset are in the any HDD casing till I buy it (and I’m going to avoid the Prolific from now on!) I might just fit it into one of my PC instead…

Ok, so I put the HDD into my PC and it still don’t work at all! Slows down the PC so that everything seems about ten times slower than it originally was. So its not the ext HDD casing at all…
